Boycotting the blocked

Spam is very annoying. Therefore I want to make sure that I do not encourage spammers by ever buying anything from them. To make sure spammers don't waste my time, I have a very effective spam filter. This means I almost never see spam sent to me. This means I don't know if a company has spammed me so I don't know if I should boycott them. To find out I'd have to carefully go through the bit bucket to see who has sent me spam, thus wasting my time. It seems they've got me coming and going…

Don't worry, Kai. You can continue buying penis pills from Apoteket. I'm sure they never spammed anyone.

Ah, but you see I suspect it's not just the distributors but the actual manufacturers that lie behind the spam.

Here's another interesting tidbit: I currently use three different email addresses and I get different distributions of spam type to them. In particular my job address seems to be targeted with stock buying tips and casino offers which the other two don't get. Possibly there is still some kind of market segmentation going on and a .com address implies you have money to burn rather than time to worry about penis dimensions…
